Jameelah’s work has always focused on giving voice to marginalized communities, particularly black women. Jameelah has entered the virtual reality (VR) medium - as a producer and editor with the womanist body-reclamation film See Me in 2019 - an official selection in the London Shorts Fest, FIVARS, and Chelsea Film Festivals.

Later that year, she Co-Produced the socially conscious film Every 9 Hours - currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

 

The film was inspired by the 2017 statistic which revealed that every nine hours a person is shot and killed by police. Not only did Jameelah provide extensive script notes to preserve the authenticity of the Black American perspective; she also hired majorly women of color in crew positions that are typically male-dominated.
